In VIC, you can only offer the advertised rent or a lower amount. If you’re a property manager in Victoria (VIC) and Snug displays an Error message when sending a lease offer above the advertised price, this is due to state regulations.
Why does this happen?
Victorian regulations requires that properties cannot be leased for more than the advertised price. This protects renters from rent bidding and ensures transparency.
How to resolve the error
- Check the advertised price
- Make sure the lease offer matches or is below the advertised rent.
- Adjust the offer if needed
- If you want to change the rent, only reduce it or keep it the same as advertised.
