Summary / Overview
When a renter profile is deleted, all of their applications now disappear from Property Manager views, including newer V2 applications. This closes a gap where some applications could still appear after a renter account was removed. The change improves data accuracy and privacy, and reduces confusion when reviewing applications on a property.
Who this is for
- Property Managers using Snug to review and manage rental applications.
- System administrators or support staff who action renter profile deletion requests on behalf of Property Managers.
What changed
- When a renter profile is removed, all linked applications are now removed from Property Manager views, including V2 applications.
- Property Managers will no longer see "ghost" applications from renters whose accounts have already been deleted.
- Database records for V2 applications are soft-deleted in line with existing behaviour for legacy applications, improving data integrity and privacy.
How it works / Steps
This change is automatic. There is no new setting to enable.
- A renter requests that their Snug account and data be removed (for example, via your agency or Snug Support).
- A system administrator or Snug Support deletes the renter profile.
- As part of that deletion, all of the renter’s applications (V1 and V2) are removed from Property Manager views.
- On the property’s Applications page, the renter and their application will no longer appear in the application list.
To confirm the behaviour:
- Identify a renter whose profile has been removed.
- Open the relevant property’s Applications list.
- Verify that their application is no longer visible. If it still appears, contact Snug Support with the property link and renter email so we can investigate.
FAQs / Notes
Does this change how I delete renters or applications?
No. You should continue to follow your existing process for requesting renter profile deletion. The cascade removal of applications now happens automatically in the background.
Does this affect historical reporting or audit data?
Application records are soft-deleted, meaning they are removed from everyday Property Manager views but remain available to Snug for compliance and audit purposes if required.
Which plans is this available on?
This behaviour applies to all plans.
What should I do if I still see an application after a renter has been removed?
If an application still appears after a renter profile deletion, please contact Snug Support with:
- The renter’s name and email address
- A link to the property in Snug
- We will review the account and ensure the data is cleaned up.
