Some property managers require renters to attend a viewing (physical or virtual) and be checked in before they can submit an application. Renters can draft and save their application but will only be able to submit it after check-in confirmation by the property manager.

How to Enable or Disable the Viewing Requirement:

Go to Settings > Applications in Snug.

Team Admins can set a general team setting for viewing pre-apply options:

Property managers can override team settings per property, selecting different pre-apply viewing requirements.
How to Check-in a Renter at a Viewing:

Use Snug Mobile or Desktop to check in renters at the viewing.

Ensure the renter’s email or mobile number used for viewing registration matches their Snug profile/application.
System Behaviour Based on Pre-Apply Viewing Settings:

If a property listing or team settings require virtual viewing, renters cannot start a new application unless they have completed the virtual viewing.

If the pre-apply viewing setting is set to "physical or virtual viewing", renters can start the application but will be prevented from submitting at the final stage if they have not attended a physical or virtual viewing.

Virtual viewings are now tracked and recorded on the application page for property managers.

The virtual viewing URL in the auto-responder email now redirects renters directly to the property viewing page.
FAQs and Troubleshooting
Why can’t a renter apply for the property?
- Ensure they have registered and attended the required viewing (physical or virtual).
- Check if they received the Invite to Apply email or SMS.
- Confirm that their email or phone number in Snug matches the check-in details.
A renter attended the viewing but still can’t apply. What should I do?
- Their Snug profile email or phone number may be different from the details used for check-in.
- Update their check-in details or ask them to match their Snug profile
Can renters submit an application before attending a viewing?
- No, if the property manager has enabled this requirement, you must attend and be checked in before applying.
What if there are no available viewing times?
- Snug will notify you via email or SMS when a new viewing time is scheduled.
Who can turn off the ‘Require Viewing’ setting?
- Only property managers can enable or disable this requirement in their Snug settings.
